As a dedicated music educator with over a decade of experience, Sharon aspires to tailor her lessons to suit the individual needs of each student. Ages: 8 and up
Levels: Beginner (30 min), Intermediate (45 min), Advanced (60 min)
Styles Taught: Classical, Musical Theatre, Pop/Contemporary Commercial Music
Preparation For: RCM Exams, Auditions, Music Festivals
Students are taught proper breath management and vocal production techniques to facilitate healthy singing. Students will be introduced to a variety of repertoire, and have the option to study the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum. Music Theory is taught in conjunction with all voice lessons.
Ages: 5 and up
Levels: Beginner (30 min), RCM Grades 1-3 (30 min), RCM Grades 4-6 (45 min)
Preparation For: RCM Exams, Music Festivals, Bachelor of Music Piano Proficiency Tests
Beginner students (children and adults alike) are taught to read and play music through basic piano method books. Upon completion, students can choose to study the Royal Conservatory of Music curriculum, another piano series such as Christopher Norton Connections or American Popular Piano, or a personalized program based on the student’s interests. Music Theory is taught in conjunction with all piano lessons.
Piano & Beyond for Young Beginners
Ages: 5-7 (45 min)
Lessons designed specifically for the young beginner with an interest in piano and singing. Children are introduced to the fundamentals of music through an extended piano lesson that includes some basic vocal instruction, singing age-appropriate children’s songs, as well as listening and movement activities.
Music Theory & Music History Tutoring
Private tutoring in Music Theory and Music History is available for students wishing to devote further study to these areas, or in preparation for RCM or university entrance exams.
